SENSE OF ART

Ordinary movies and entertainment exist as a mundane
form of public dreaming.
Art can give a reminder of the timeless condition of being.
The wider role of the artist is the model an aesthetic reality that creates an
upward attraction on society. |
One might ask, "What am I doing in response
to the planetary emergency of global-warming and
climate crisis?"
Significant conservation,
alernative energy,
birth-rate reduction,
massive tree planting? But
also listen to Albert Einstein: "Nothing
will benefit human health and increase chances for survival
on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet."
Animals raised for food in the USA: use 40% of
total land; over half of all water; about one third
of energy use; consume 80% of the corn and 95% of the
oats grown.
Consider the hidden energy cost of purchases; for example, it takes 3 liters of water to produce one liter of plastic bottled water. We need to be boldly proactive in order to curb catastrophic climate chaos (global-warming).
